According to the Reserve
‘s (RBI) holiday schedule, all commercial and public sector banks in certain states will be closed on August 18th, 19th and 20th.
Banks will be closed in following states
August 18, 2022 (Thursday)- Janmashtami- Orissa, Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh
August 19, 2022 (Friday) – Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8)/Krishna Jayanthi- Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Jammu, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar.
August 20, 2022 (Saturday)- Sri Krishna Ashtami- Telangana
Banks will work in remaining states as usual on 18th, 19th and 20th of August.
All banks were closed on August 15 in commemoration of Independence Day. Muharram, Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, the Parsi New Year, and Ganesh Chaturthi are among the state-specific holidays.
For the remaining month of August, banks in certain states will be closed for these festivals: Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva, Ganesh Chaturthi.
The holidays are designated by the RBI are as follows: Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Account.
