You should not write on bank notes, here’s why
However, it requested people avoid writing on bank notes. “Under the Clean Note Policy, people are requested not to write on the currency notes as it defaces them and reduces their life,” it said.

The clarification came in response to a viral message which mentioned that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released new guidelines, under which writing anything on new notes makes it invalid and it will not be a legal tender.
